Samina & Nirvana’s Favorite Soup Recipes for Busy Days
Samina and I have been having fun on Instagram this week with our fast(ish) foods series. Each day, we’ll be sharing our favorite strategies to get nourishing food on your plate QUICKLY, to help you through this busy season and beyond.
Fast(ish) foods are something you should think about if this sounds like you:
Breakfast time might come and go as you reach for one more cup of coffee and a handful of nuts to get through a late morning meeting. Or maybe by the time you are ready to sit down for a meal it’s time for school pickup. You throw a granola bar or two in your purse to eat on the road (something is better than nothing, right?).
By the time dinner comes around, you feel hangry, ravenous, shaky, resentful, and utterly DEPLETED.
And then after dinner instead of relief, you find:
Your energy has not yet recovered — you’re barely able to brush your teeth before bed
Your digestion is off (and continues to feel bad the next morning!)
And then an hour or so before bedtime, you feel hungry again…
…you comb through your pantry for a quick snack, and end up eating WAY beyond the point of feeling comfortable.
Now you feel guilty, anxious, and not great in your body. You make a mental note to yourself not to keep these snacks at home. “I don’t trust myself”.
Does this sound familiar?
You’re not alone.
By skipping meals, you’re setting yourself up for overeating later in the day, and creating a perfect storm for digestive discomfort, blood sugar swings, and overall depletion.
This is where soup comes in…
There’s something about soup that feels like a hug in a bowl. 🍲
But here’s the thing…soup isn’t just cozy.
It’s also one of the easiest Fast[ish] Foods to keep you nourished during a busy week.
Think about it:
✨ Make a big batch once, and you’ve got meals for days.
✨ Pair it with some crusty bread or rice, and you’ve got a balanced plate.
✨ Freeze a few portions and your future self will thank you on a hectic night.
This time of year, soup is one of our go-to strategies for clients who struggle with digestive symptoms and busy schedules.
It’s warm, gentle, and filling while providing you with easily digestible forms of fiber and protein.
Here are some of Nirvana and Samina’s favorite recipes for busy fall days:

🥥 Spiced Chickpea Stew with Shrimp (tip: add a bag of peeled and deveined shrimp for extra protein and paired it with rice)
